ScholarHunter Terms of Use
DRAFT — pending review by Liu Lab, Tokyo Woman's Christian University. Not yet legally reviewed.
1. Purpose of the service
ScholarHunter is an academic, non-commercial service operated by Liu Lab at Tokyo Woman's Christian University. It compiles briefings about public scholarly activity — publications, public patent filings, and published conference programs — for research purposes. There is no fee for using the service.
2. No warranty; limited liability
The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Liu Lab accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of briefings, for service interruptions, or for errors in compiled content, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
3. Acceptable use
- No bulk export, scraping, or automated harvesting of the service's data.
- No re-sale or commercial redistribution of briefings or underlying data.
- No use of briefings to harass, intimidate, or disadvantage any person.
- One account per person; keep your credentials confidential.
4. Data accuracy and AI-generated content
All scholarly data comes from third-party public sources (OpenAlex, Crossref, arXiv, Semantic Scholar, PatentsView, EPO OPS, DBLP, OpenReview); accuracy is not guaranteed. Summaries and narrative text are AI-generated, may contain errors, and must be verified against the linked original source before being relied upon. Every item in every briefing links to its origin.
5. Changes and termination
The service may be modified, suspended, or terminated at any time. Material changes to these terms are versioned; continued use after re-acceptance constitutes agreement.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
